A threshold mechanism for a spiking node that calculates the threshold level using a simple base threshold. Calling the reset operator causes the base threshold to be reset to <basethresh>. Noise can be added to the threshold by calling the default operator for the object referenced by <noise>. The noise object is referenced and must be of type Particle.
