A design space object that implements a projection between two planar layers. The connectivity is defined with respect to a <patch>. The order in which connections are generated is defined by a traverse of the post-synaptic layer. Concurrently, the patch is traversed across the pre-synaptic layer at a uniform rate. The patch defines the region of possible pre-synaptic nodes for the current post-synaptic node. The patch is a referenced object and must be of type Patch.
